Democrat Senator says Nazi-like Republicans 'ruined' Christmas

Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) is a piece of work:
"Far from appealing to the better angels of our nature, too many colleagues are embarked on a desperate no-holds-barred mission of propaganda, obstruction and fear. History cautions us of the excesses to which these malignant, vindictive passions can ultimately lead. Tumbrils have rolled through taunting crowds, broken glass has sparkled in darkened streets. Strange fruit has hung from Southern trees. Even this great institution of government that we share has cowered before a tail-gunner waving secret lists. . . .
"We see it in Christmases and holidays ruined by the Republicans for our loyal and professional Senate employees. It’s fine for me. It’s fine for the president. We signed up for the his job, but why ruin it for all the employees condemned by the Republicans to be here?” (Emphasis added.)

Update: (Smitty) (h/t Dana Loesch)
Great business opportunity for someone to produce an all-joker deck of cards once the Senatorial sodomy subsides. Claire McCaskill makes a demented start:

  1. Wait - I thought the progressives deemed that only conservatives can invoke Godwin's Law?

  2. Just remember that Rhode Island is populated with descendants of those who were thrown out of Massachusetts.

I never pay a visit to Rhode Island without encountering someone who scares the bejeezus out of me in some freakish way.

    Today, it was Sheldon.

Who the heck names their kid Sheldon, anyway? Parents who want their kid to get the crap kicked out of them on a regular basis?

  3. Well... when you don't have anything substantive on which to base your argument, resort to name-calling.

  4. Silly me, I thought the Democrats were in the *majority*. You'd think the Republicans had chained the Democrats to their desks and weren't letting them leave. It's the Democrats that think that passing their craptastical 'health care' bill is more important than Senate employees having a Christmas away from Capitol Hill; those lame projecting bastards could adjourn at any time they please and Republicans couldn't stop them even if they wanted to.
