Joe Cheapskate

Tax Prof Blog:
[T]he returns show that the Bidens have been amazingly tight-fisted when it comes to their charitable giving. Despite income ranging from $210,432 - $321,379 over the ten-year period, the Bidens have given only $120 - $995 per year to charity, which amounts to 0.06% - 0.31% of their income.
Jennifer Rubin:
I’m sure this isn’t what the Obama camp had in mind when they refashioned the man who spent three decades in Washington riding to and from home on taxpayer subsidized Amtrak into A Man of The People.
Man of the Cheaple!

  1. This doesn't shock me. Liberals believe the government ought to be the primary force behind social welfare, so private charities play second fiddle. There is also an attitude they have sacrificed of themselves to go into a life of public service and are entitled to keep what "little" they have because of it, even if it is a quarter million plus a year.

The interesting part is that McCain has given more money in relation to his income than either Biden or Obama to private charities. At least both sides are sticking to their ideological views on who ought to be most responsible for the social wel lbeing.
