Attack of the Lesbian Brigade

The New York Times is shocked, shocked:

The Army and Air Force discharged a disproportionate number of women in 2007 under the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. . . .
While women make up 14 percent of Army personnel, 46 percent of those discharged under the policy last year were women. And while 20 percent of Air Force personnel are women, 49 percent of its discharges under the policy last year were women.
No later than Thursday, some Hollywood screenwriter will be pitching this story to a producer: "Forbidden love in the sands of Iraq! Lusty lesbians in combat boots! Natalie Portman plays the vulnerable, lonely young private who finds secret comfort in the arms of her commanding officer, Angelina Jolie. Alec Baldwin as the JAG who gets a little too close to the subjects of his investigation. Think of it as 'An Officer and a Gentleman' meets 'G.I. Jane.' We'll win an Oscar!"

Just think of the "Director's Cut" DVD . . .
